Welikada Prison Massacre(s), Colombo

The two massacres took place during the July 1983 anti-Tamil pogrom when Sinhala criminals attacked Tamil political detainees. 35 Tamil detainees were killed on July 25th 1983, while another 18 Tamil detainees and 3 prison deputies were killed on July 27th 1983.
